Playing the Bass Guitar

Had a bit of a fragment dream last night; I'm watching a man playing an Electric Bass guitar. I asked if I could try it. It was unusual in that It had five strings kinda spaced out.



When I held the guitar, that back was interesting, there were these pad-like controls you'd push for different sound effects that you'd normally get in an electric guitar. I Don't know how to play bass...recently I was thinking about getting a practice piano.
