..The Oilmen

I thought I'd post this dream, because it seemed topical for events of the times in the U.S.A concerning the recent "Deepwater Horizon" Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
A User in a forum I frequented posted a dream like this.

"Saw an awful dream last night. I think it's partly because I've eaten badly as in foods i wouldn't normally eat so much.

In the dream I was being raped 9 times by as many men covered in oil, it was really horrible
I've thought of the oil catastrophe yesterday alot, that's why the oil coming to the dream I think
I wanted to get these 9 men to stop by telling them I'll carry a child but they wouldn't listen...it seemed they wished I would almost.
I tried to make myself remain calm and channel all my emotions and thoughts elsewhere into loving thoughts while I was still being used. I somehow managed to do this and in the end I wanted to forgive them for doing it.
At that moment they stopped and disappeared, and the dream ended soon after that...
when they disappeared I had a feeling I was carrying a child though......
"

I replied later that we all have dreams like this at times but that mostly her dream seemed to be the way many other people are thinking and feeling about this Oil Spill.. Her dream seemed most graphic,nightmarish. Being raped is a pretty powerless kinda feeling.

When you have dreams like this ..what can you do about them? No one wants to be raped, We 'd like to save the planet, and help creatures who are unable to defend themselves, least we die also.

I was kinda stumped about these dreams what could it mean, what is the purpose of it. I posted..

"I suppose if you live in the areas affected by the oil spill , you may really be in the situation in ------ dream; being raped by oilmen. Many people have businesses that are dependant on the natural environment of the Gulf , now that has been greatly changed.

What are you to do? shall "The dreamer" concede to the rapist and have these oil men's baby? Shall she wait for a better transit of the or wait till is direct? Shall she take preventative measures so she doesn't have these guys children? Shall she take self-defensive classes, buy a gun?

I guess the point is sometimes you cannot prevent harm or evil coming to you sometimes, , but what do you do if when it comes?
"

I posted that maybe the dream is talking about Karma among other things, in that; its maybe showing the result of an action, or actions not taken. Its harder to stop something, once the event was happen, hence the nightmarish quality of a dream.

But then the dreamer came up with this gem in another post, related to astrology;it was "The Black Moon Lilith" transit ... and its "Sabian Symbol"

The Post went;

"I Agree -------, it was fascinating to notice the transits of Black Moon Lilith?.

Natally I have in 29 Capricorn in my 5th house. It is ,
Looked up the Sabian Symbols for this degree:

(CAPRICORN 30°): A SECRET MEETING OF MEN RESPONSIBLE FOR EXECUTIVE DECISIONS IN WORLD AFFAIRS.
KEYNOTE: The power to assume responsibility for crucial choices arrived at after mature discussions with those who share this power.
We are all aware now of the work of secret committees in the White House and at all levels of the government. The student of esoteric philosophy believes in the existence of what has been called an "inner Government" which has the power to direct or guide the evolution of our planet and of mankind. Some people speak of "occult Hierarchy," or of the "White Lodge." Here again what is at stake is a "seeing through" the facts of telluric processes and human history — assuming that these facts are at least in part the outcome of the decisions of a supreme Council of quasi-divine Beings. Obviously the symbol can also refer to what occurs at the more ordinary level of business and politics. At any level, it refers to the highest form of social interaction.
This is the last symbol belonging to Scene Twenty and related to the zodiacal sign Capricorn. We see in it the culmination of social responsibility and a reference to EXECUTIVE POWER."

I use Sabian Symbols in some of the astrological things I do on another Blog, "The Disgruntled Astrologer". So I was fascinated. In the dream work aspect of this oilmen dream, The dreamer found a astrological correlation, though the Sabian symbols have a positive and a negative interpretation for each zodiac degree.

Since the dream has a "Shadow" quality to it. A shadow in the Jungian idea is a repressed maybe even unconscious, but dynamic aspect of the personality, that is sometimes projected on others, because usually its an sometimes an unflattering aspect of ourselves, hence the shadow has negative qualities associated with it.

So how does the negative interpretation of the Sabian symbol (represented by the Black Moon Lilith) "30 Capricorn" read?

"The Caution: Excluding some. Exploiting people or situations. Elitism. Being controlled by those above. Decisions made behind closed doors. Dark rooms and huddled people talking. Concealing the truth from others. Cliques and committees. Suspicions of motives." 360 degrees of wisdom, Lynda Hill

Does that describe the dreamers "Shadow " in this dream, The repressed aspects of herself in the dream? It suggest that she tends to be like these people she hates in the dream (although she decides to have their baby), that is elitist, making terrible decisions affecting her life without her permission. The dreamer feels powerless to stop them.

I pointed out what an author on the subject of dreams, Jeremy Taylor, said about Dreams and Nightmares;

"In my experience, all dreams (and particularly nightmares) come in the service of health and wholeness. This means that no dream, no matter how distressing or menacing, ever came to anyone to say, "Nyah, nyah, you've got these problems and you can't do anything about them!" The very fact that a dream is remembered in the first place means that the dreamer actually has at his or her disposal all the courage, creativity, strength, and wisdom necessary to respond creatively and transformatively to even the worst "problem" that the dream presents. (If the dreamer were not in possession of all the energies required for positive, creative, transformative response, the dream would simply not be remembered.) This is true not only at the level of individual, psychospiritual health and wholeness, but at the level of world society, culture, and collective human struggle as well"...Jeremy Taylor.

So maybe the solution to the dreamers nightmare, is that maybe in dream or reality. The dreamer needs to go to these places where these "oilman" live. Try to visit the secret places, go to the meetings, Get politically involved, so she can have some input on the policies that these "Oilmen" make, maybe that way she can prevent further attempts on her livelihood figuratively and metaphorically.

In the dream, the dreamer made the decision to have the rapist's children since she was being repeated raped....and there was nothing she could do about it. The "lesser" possibility indicated in this dream is that she will meet someone of importance, maybe an "Oilman", someone who directs or creates policy that affects many others lives..and have his baby, thereby affecting policy on others lives in that way. Is that the way women do those things.

So astrology wise would ya think that the astrological "Black Moon-Lilith" might point to repressed aspects of the self, the "Shadow"? in Jungian psychology? Could you find the "Shadow" in an astrological chart? maybe that question remains to be asked in my astrology blog "The disgruntled astrologer"
