Peter H. Duesberg is a professor of Molecular and Cell Biology at U.C Berkeley, a virologist. He's German and has got a slight accent. He's infamous for his dissent views about HIV/AIDS. He believes that HIV doesn't cause AIDS, and that the drugs designed to treat HIV/AIDS, and recreational drug use are responsible for AIDS Deaths. In 1996 he said in his book that he thought the AIDS epidemic in Africa was basically a hoax. He is treated as a pariah regarding his views about HIV /AIDS. Most of the time when you mention Duesberg in the media ... your just greeted with silence, or the door slams in your face. Duesberg is called a crackpot, or a nut depending on who you talk to but Duesberg has got alot of academic/scientific credentials. His views are unpopular to say the least , but they smack with a bit of common sense, and compassion.
I read his Book "Inventing the AIDS virus"..which is a very good read, in it Duesberg punches some holes in HIV/AIDS theory, unfortunately the book is a little dated now. Cause of his book I went to try to met Duesberg on the University of Berkeley campus some time ago..we was very accessible..and we got to talk alot. I'm very curious about what his views are regarding HIV/AIDS today? Does he still feel the same way? Also I asked him if he would like to play a game of chess once he replied to the affirmative. I think Duesbergs views about virology, HIV/AIDS are worth talking about today.
Its too bad that I'm not a student at U.C Berkeley. Molecular - Cell biology sounds very interesting, yet I'm light years from ever getting in U.C. B or taking one of Duesberg classes. I'm don't think Duesberg would even remember me.
So I'm not sure what this dream is saying. With my problems today maybe I tend to worry about getting HIV/AIDS...though I'm not sexually active nor homosexual, or engage in homo sex. I was interested in Duesberg, and what what I learned from him was being HIV+, or having AIDS may not be a death sentence. But this is not very gratifying considering I'm not Gay. I got interested in learning more about AIDS when a relative I was close to was dying from it.
There's the aspect of feeling persecuted for ones beliefs...that I identify with...What do you do if your a "Duesberg", where does one find sanctuary? And what's the bit about his cars in this dream , and being in a garage where there are these broken down vintage cars ...and Duesberg's car is not there?

So I came to see your Blog, The issue of an AIDS related dream, may not be what you belive it to be.
AIDS/HIV is a concern I belive for most average people. Even though not many are engaging in activities which could contibute to or even spread the virus.
I do not know a lot about the AIDS/HIV situation myself. You having gone to this fellows lectures gives you a bit more insite on the whole story. They say that knowlige is power but knowing did not prevent my cousin from contacting the bug. He has lived with being HIV+ for a little over 10 years and with the medication has managed to keep a low viral count, which is good I am told.
Not sure what to make of the missing cars, I'll have to think on it and post again later.
Be sure to visit my Blog again some time for more discusion.
